school project... my son's kindergarten class was assigned an earth day project. he had to create something out of trash. a soda bottle, some soda cans, a brown paper bag, toilet paper tube and some hot glue - and Harold the hog was born. my son provided the creative direction... he'll be a good boss someday. it was a fun project!

the perfect combination (tentatively)

after much searching for the perfect combination of eyeshadow primer and eyeshadow, i think i've finally found a good one. not that i'm a beauty blogger, this just happened to be on my mind. my eyelids tend to get greasy (i know, ew) and by the end of day, my eyeshadow was a wreck. now i'm happy to say i've found something that works. it's a combination of too faced shadow insurance primer and lancome color design eyeshadow. after 2 days of almost flawless wear, it's so far, so good. i'm going to try the primer with some other eyeshadows and see what works.

pen to paper.... a long time ago I used to sketch on a regular basis. recently I've been trying to find the time to do some sketching (or doodling, depending on the perspective) each evening. this is the first thing I've done that is worthy of posting. very rough, but I'm still rusty. I've just got to keep at it and work out the kinks.

fun to be 6

my son is 6, full of fun and laughter and enjoying life. in hard times i get my joy from him, just watching him, soaking up his energy. lately he has developed a love of drawing, just like i had at his age. watching him create stories with his pictures reminds me of what it was like to be a kid, unburdened by all this silly (and not so silly) adult stuff.

here's one of his latest creations.

it's a picture of him with his dad. fun stuff. so simple.... i can only wish life was that simple. but for a moment i can look at his drawings and smile and pretend it is.
